Jesus warned his disciples saying,"And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must be; but the end shall not be yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:" Mark 13:7, 8

He also pointed out that these matters must be, but the end is not yet. As a matter of fact there were and have been wars and rumors of wars on umpteen occasions since he pronounced the statement, but the conclusion is not yet. There were additional events that had to come to pass, but the prophetic implication is that these wars, and rumors thereof, will intensify as the end gets closer.

The prophetic perspective that I would like to address to is that of the present U.S. war (billed as part of the broad war on terror) as it concerns the harm done to the United States and the rights of its people. The large majority of the American citizens are opposed to this war,as a matter of fact, very many of them believe that it was based in absolute deception from the outset and the have made it very clear that that is the way that they feel.

What is amazing about the situation; however, is the refusal of the elected representatives to honor the will of the people. The American taxpayer is being coerced to spend billions and billions of dollars for a war that they have very distinctly spoken that they do not want.

Moreover, millions of Americans are losing, or have already lost their homes, are paying higher gas prices, food prices etc., while witnessing billions of their tax dollars being committed to war spending, and bank bailouts. Notwithstanding the mantra of "government by the people" in "free" America is still touted.

The Bible prophets warned us that the basic representative government in this country would eventually come under assault, and at length be altogether altered but the great majority of the American people have not cared to heed or regard the voice of the prophets.

We have been encouraged by the Bible to "Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper." 2 Chronicles 20:20.

Notwithstanding, we have not listened to this and as a consequence we find ourselves dwelling in a another American America which the ideals of the Bill Of Rights have become lightly regarded by many in positions of power and influence. And the result of this will be an America that is unidentifiable from what it used to be and what made it superb.

A striking example of this is when senator and Republican candidate for president John McCain was asked on 60 minutes "At what point do you stop doing what you think is right, and start doing what the majority of the American people want" (with respect to the war in Iraq).

Senator McCain answered, "I disagree with what the majority of the American people want". It seems to me that we should have listened to the prophets.
